This decorative cup is of “Bute Shape” and was produced by Coalport, in England during the first quarter of the 19th century, circa 1810. The cup features a large loop handle and a decorative pattern in the traditional Imari palette and style. The pattern features extensive gilt decoration, a rich dark cobalt blue ground and wonderful hand painted details such as the pair of birds.
