This wonderful hand coloured lithograph print was produced in France during the 19th century, circa 1840. The title reads ‘Le Sauveur Du Monde. Salvador Del Mundo. The Saviour Of The World.’ The print depicts the Jesus as Salvador Mundi.

The print was engraved by the French lithographer Thomas Napoleon (b 1810). The print was published and printed by Jean-Baptiste Gadola (1818-1870) in Lyon, Maesani in Paris and by Forgues in Toulouse and Marseille.

The print is housed behind wonderful old bubbled glass in its original wood frame with the most ornate embossed and gilded paper covering. This is a decorative print, the perfect item for anyone looking for the shabby chic French look. This item is one of a pair each sold separately.

Measuring: Frame width 11.5 inch (29 cm) by height 14.5 inch (37 cm). Aperture width 9.75 inch (25 cm) by height 13 inch (33 cm).

Condition: All original with surface wear to frame, some lifting to the painted sections of the print, some perforations and some minor discoloration to the paper.
