This beautiful porcelain basket was produced by Coalport in England during the early 19th century, circa 1845. The fine porcelain basket features hand painted floral sprays with extensive gilt decoration on a rich cobalt blue ground. The underside features a rare printed retailer’s mark reading ‘Coalport Porcelain. Sparks, Broad St, Worcester. By Appointment to Her Majesty Queen Adelaide.’

‘Sparks’ of Worcester retailed fine porcelain, glass and earthenware from Royal Porcelain House, 7, Broad Street, Worcester. It was owned by George Sparks. The Queen Adelaide service was produced by Coalport and sold exclusively at Sparks from 1844-45 as retailers by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Adelaide. Worcester was the home to some of the finest manufacturers and retailers of quality English porcelain.

Measuring: Width 6.75 inch (17 cm) by height 4 inch (10 cm). Depth 5.5 inch (14 cm).

Condition: Very good free from chips or repairs. Very minor firing fault to handle as seen in images, mentioned for accuracy.
