This wonderful antique genuine bronze bell modeled as a medieval lady. Although unmarked, this quality bell was manufactured by a good foundry and dates to the mid-19th century, circa 1850. The bell is finely modeled as a lady wearing traditional Tudor dress; the bell would have been owned by a wealthy family and was used to summon a servant. This is a high quality bronze example, with wonderful intricate details; we particularly like the brass leg clappers. This is a decorative, unique item that will display excellently.
Measuring: Width 3 1/8 inch (8 cm) by height 5 1/8 inch (13 cm). Depth 3 inch (7.5 cm). Weighing a substantial 653g or 1.43 lbs
Condition: Good with a wonderful natural aged patina in this gorgeous deep chocolate coloration, as with many antique bronze bell faces (being picked up by her head) there is a slight squish to her nose.
