This gorgeous gilded crown comes direct from a French 19th century collection of three small crowns that are each retailed separately...see last images. This tiny clear paste bejeweled treasure dates from the 1870 period. This small crown would have originally adorned a sacred statue within a French church. It now makes a wonderful crown for a very special antique doll or statue. Modeled on our 22" Armand Marseille Doll.
This sturdy little gilt metal crown is very well made, a sign of its authenticity (it is not a flimsy reproduction). We see a clear paste bottom border with standing flowers with paste stone centers and tiny star finials with paste centers. The original gilt metal domed center support is still in place, this originally secured the crown to the wooden statue's head. Having its original two notch adjuster to the rear.
Size: 1.75" tall by 2.25" diameter
Condition: As shown in image, one gilt metal star and paste finial is missing at 9 o'clock, one paste stone replacement beneath. A few light bends to the shape but nothing detrimental.
With bright gilding and lovely sparkly stones this 19th century French treasure will not disappoint..
