This delightful portrait silhouette dates was produced in England and dates to the early 19th century, the Regency period - circa 1820's. This painted silhouette of a Regency era young lady features the most wonderful bronzing; we particularly like how the artist has depicted the sitter's tight curls to her temple area, her looped plait worn high on her crown with shell comb to the center and her fine gauze collar/ modesty panel with faint horizontal hatched lines and teeny fichu pin. The silhouette is housed behind its original convex glass in its original papier mache frame with a gilt metal bezel and acorn top hanger. This is a quality example that will display excellently, please see our collection of portrait miniature and silhouettes listed in our store. Grouped together on a wall they make for a fine display.
