A very charming diminutive sized footstool from the late Victorian period. This circa 1900 example is the perfect addition to your folk art home as the little cat or kitten woolwork is adorable. We see a little moggy sitting on the most comfortable looking tasselled cushion in its shades of blue and red. Having a rosewood frame with four original bun feet. The wool needlepoint sits within a straw stuffed lozenge shape with red cotton raised border. The stool sides also covered in the same woven red cotton cloth. Three of the four original silk tassels remain. A twisted blue and neutral cotton braid completes this sweet example.
Size: 9.5" square by 5" tall
Condition: This is an original example of over 100 years old and so please expect some wear to the very strong woolwork top and its woven cotton sides. It is perfectly strong, stable and functional.
