This rare and charmingly naïve pottery money box was produced in Wales, UK during the 19th century, circa 1840. The polychrome hand painted with high gloss glaze money banks is modeled as a single storey Welsh cottage, we particularly like the two Welsh ladies sat outside wearing traditional silk Welsh hats and the out of proportion pair of geese to their left. This is a charming little item that will display excellently alongside any collection of 19th century pottery and porcelain, the ideal item for anyone who collects 19th century folk art. Please see our other pottery house money bank, listed in our store, seen in last image.
