This is a clever way to ensure the survival of a damaged Georgian textile accessory. This late Georgian framed example is just one half of a once damaged pocketbook/ purse/ needlecase etui. This ancient survivor has been salvaged and later mounted on to paper and then framed behind glass in an antique circa 1800 pressed brass frame. This divine combination is now ready to hang. This is one of a pair, each retailed separately...see last images.

We see a beautiful arrangement of beadwork flowers embroidered onto a green silk ground. A meandering border of green silk embroidered foliage frames this delight. To the very edge we see clear glass beads.

Size: Framed 6.25" by 4.95". Actual etui size 4.25" by 3".

Condition: As mentioned this is one half of an etui. A probable beaded leaf is missing below the rose, also a teeny beaded pink flower is missing and some foliage above the yellow flower. This is only really noticeable when compared to its partner, retailed individually. The circa 1800 pressed brass covered wood frame has some flaking to the brass corners commensurate with its vast age.

This is a gorgeous little picture, a winning combination in the Georgian pressed brass frame.
