This wonderful pocket castellated watch holder was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1890. This decorative pocket watch holder is modelled as an English castle with four turrets and a series of faux lead pane windows. The craftsman who made it was clearly influenced by the details found on England’s great castles such as Dover Castle and Warwick Castle. This unique, one of a kind model has been hand made from wood; the exterior is coated in fine painted sand. The front face of the castle features the pocket watch holder; the holder can be accessed via a door to the rear.
The holder will display a small pocket watch less than 3.5 in diameter (see images) which can be pushed in and upwards into the central circular holder. We have also included an image showing the holder with a cut out image of a pocket watch for display purposes only. We are happy to include the paper cut out with the sale.
This is a unique opportunity to own a decorative, quality piece that will display excellently. This is the perfect item for anyone in pursuit of the English country house look, we have not seen another like it.
