A stunning and very scarce mid 19th century enamel on copper oval portrait pin that is smaller than thumb size. This gorgeous portrait enamel is set within a chased gilt metal frame (untested, likely gold fill). This tiny example depicts a hand enameled portrait of the English poet Lord Byron in dramatic pose with head in his hands. The chased gilt metal frame is a true delight and typical of this Victorian period jewelry of 1840s. This oh so sweet enamel pin most likely produced in Switzerland. Complete with white metal tube hinge and C clasp.
Size : 3/4" (2 cm) tall x 0.5" ( 1.2 cm) wide. It is in very good condition.
It is ready to wear by a special doll, shown modeled by our 22 inch and 28 inch tall girls..thank you girls.
