We are pleased to offer this exceptional Regency era toy, doll size Spode porcelain cup and saucer. This circa 1818 porcelain cup and saucer is of teeny miniature proportions; imagine the skill required to manufacture on such a tiny scale. Both pieces have excellent translucency. This is a piece of the highest quality and is decorated in the sought after Imari pattern 3071. The saucer is marked on the base with iron red script reading ‘Spode 3071’ the cup is marked ‘3071’.
Measuring: Cup width including handle 1 5/8 inch (4 cm) by height 7/8 inch (2.5 cm). Saucer diameter 1 7/8 inch (4.7 cm).
Condition: Both pieces display excellently, however please note that there is historic restoration to both pieces, difficult to see and not visually detrimental. A semi circular section of the cup has been well restored starting from the inside of the handle, the gold edge then re-gilded. Some historic good restoration to the underside of the saucer.
This is the perfect item for anyone who collects rare early English porcelain, as it will make a luxury addition to a doll house or perhaps a luxury accessory for a VERY special doll.
Please see our other miniature Spode cup and saucer produced during the same period, retailed separately but shown in last image.
