This wonderful and vibrant painting is painted using a thick application of paint, the impasto technique. The energy, brightness of color and the way he has captured the light is truly fantastic and truly reflective of the Art Deco mood. The painting is signed by the artist bottom right, only visible when removed from the frame. It has the two original artist labels verso. The labels to the rear of the painted board read: ‘Pomana. Oil by Cyril Saunders Spackman R.B.A., F.S.A., Scot., L.R.I.B.A., The Studio, One Edridge Road, Croydon, Surrey.’
