This is a wonderful opportunity to own a pair of little Dog and Deer toy plates that were produced in the early 19th century in Staffordshire, England. One of the small plates features a black transfer printed design of a dog and the other features a deer. We particularly like the raised floral border. This is a rare item in an uncommon pattern, the perfect addition to your collection of early English pottery and porcelain. Please see our other early 19th century transferware items which are available in our Ruby Lane store.
Measuring: Diameter 4.75 inch (12 cm).
Condition: Crazing to the glaze. Small graze to the underside rim of the dog plate. The three small chips to the foot rim of the deer plate are stilt marks from when the plates are stacked during the manufacturing process. They are then removed from the stilts, occasionally they stick to the body causing these small chips when separated.
