A small and endearing little Berlin woolwork needlepoint picture from the last quarter of the 19th century. This cute little pooch, likely a Springer spaniel type comes to you in all original, unopened condition - quite rare these days!! The needlepoint mesh ground worked in gros point stitching in vibrant shades of red, blue and green. Housed under old glass with an inner gilt slip. The stained wooden frame has a fancy faux grain painted effect inner edge. This charming four legged friend is just ready to hang and admire, making a great addition to your folk art collection.
Size: Frame 14" by 11" by 1", needlework 10" by 7.5".
Condition: The woolwork is in good condition with some very slight undulation to the mesh ground. The Victorian frame has a few surface marks but nothing detrimental or unexpected for its 100 plus year age.
