This genuine Palais Royal white Opaline scent bottle is modeled as an egg and dates to the EARLY 19th century, circa 1830. This decorative and highly tactile egg opens via an ornate gilt metal clasp to reveal a scent bottle complete with its original hinged lid and its original Oplaine glass stopper. It is extremely rare for a scent bottle to retain its original stopper, making this example even more desirable. This item has been produced to an excellent quality, the scent bottle is non removable as it is incorporated into the design. The item oozes quality, it feel substantial in the hand. A rare item that will display excellently, a fine example indeed.
Measuring: Diameter 1 7/8 inch (4.5 cm). Height 3 inch (7.5 cm).
Condition: No chips or cracks, opens and closes perfectly. Minor scratch to the stopper. Minor surface wear around the gilded mounts to be expected with a genuine scent bottle of this vast age.
