This highly unusual large Victorian black forest bear page turner dates to the late 19th century, most likely brought back from Switzerland by a Victorian tourist during the 1890 to 1900 period. The handle is hand carved from Linden wood being modeled as a handsome black forest bear head and has been produced to an excellently quality; we love his original amber brown glass eyes and his very tactile patina through over 100 years of use. This is the perfect luxury accessory for your office, library, cabin or ski lodge as it is a charming hand carved item found in this scarce out sized dimension. Please see our other 19th century page turners shown in the final image.
Measuring: Height 15 inch (38 cm) by depth 1.75 inch (4.5 cm).
Condition: Good and sound original condition. Some minor age associated bumps/nibbles to his right ear tip and also to the very end of the turner.
