This finely decorated octagonal miniature bowl was produced in England at the beginning of the 19th century by the English porcelain manufacturer Coalport, circa 1820. This very charming miniature is decorated to a very high standard for such a small piece and was produced as an accessory for a larger doll. The exterior features rich gilt decoration, hand painted sprays of flowers; all executed upon a dark cobalt blue ground. We love the large hand painted pink English rose to the center of the bowl.
Measuring: Width 2 5/8 inch (6.8 cm). Height 7/8 inch (2.3 cm).
Condition: Not perfect as there is an area of good restoration to two of the sides of the bowl with a tiny hard to see shallow line to the glaze visible on the interior of the bowl.
This item has been produced to an excellent quality by one of England’s best porcelain manufacturers, it is the perfect accessory for a doll house or a special doll.
