This large decorative sycamore baker's pie press or pastry mold is a fantastic example of 19th century English Country house treen. The carved wood mold was produced in the England and dates to the 1830-50 period. The mold would have been used in the kitchen in a large country house to press to the inside of large pastry pies prior to filling with meat; it is one of the largest molds we have seen. We love the rustic look and THE most gorgeous mellow feel of the wood. The wood has a warm glow and is wonderfully smooth from all the hands that have held it over the past 150 years. It is of solid construction and will display excellently in a kitchen, alongside a collection of treen or alternatively it could be used as a rather unique door stop due to its solid construction.
