A delightfully rare item of treen from the first half of the nineteenth century. After extensive research, we cannot find a similar treen peg knitting device. One assumes that this gorgeous article was handmade perhaps for a family member or, possibly a prisoner of war made item.
Beautifully hand carved from a solid piece of pine that has acquired a deep honey color and smooth natural patina over the years. We adore the tiny bone tuning pegs. Having two rows of inserted pegs and the hole down the middle for your peg knitting to escape.
Size: 8" tall by 2" by 0.75"
Condition: Good antique condition. Not perfect as it has been used and loved.. A possible replaced tuning peg end. One snapped pin at the top left of the inlaid bone center. However as this is such a rare little item we hope that any knitting or textile collector can overlook these small blemishes.
