Antique 19th Century 14" Doll Chemise Slip Petticoat Suitable For Early Wooden Doll Milliner Type Doll
A very pretty all original 19th century item of doll's clothing. This full length chemise was hand made from fine plain weave pin tucked cotton with two inserted panels of bobbin lace. The stitching is small and regular, most likely stitched on a hand operated sewing machine. Having cotton tape shoulder straps and two tiny buttons to the rear.
This all original item is tall with a narrow bodice. Please read our measurements to check if it is suitable for your doll. We can imagine it would suit an early wooden type or papier mache milliner type doll due to the narrower body/ shoulder plate of such type dolls.
Size: Height 14.5". Chest circumference 6" - arm pit to arm pit 3". Shoulder width at top of shoulder straps 2". From waist to top of shoulder 2.25"
Condition: All original, free from repairs or holes. This is a genuine antique item of dolls apparel, it is not pristine as it has some gentle age foxing that is dappled over the fabric to both the front and rear.
This came from a collection of 19th century dolls clothing, please see our other items. We have another 19th century white muslin dress to be added shortly that would possibly be suitable for a similar size doll.
