Early 19th Century Ridgway Porcelain Cup Floral Cobalt Blue London Shape Pattern 2/596 Circa 1820 STUNNING

This London Shape cup was produced by Ridgway in England in the early 19th century, circa 1820. It is TRULY stunning and we guarantee that you will absolutely love it. The exterior features a highly detailed hand painted floral scene that is a masterpiece by itself. It also features extensive gilt leaf decoration upon a rich cobalt blue ground. The interior rim decoration of the five interlinked circles was also used by Coalport during this period. The base of the cup is marked with the Ridgway pattern number 2/596 in red.

Measuring: Width at widest point 3 5/8” (9.5 cm). Height 2.5” (6.5 cm).

Condition: The cup is in good condition for its age but not quite perfect. The gilding and the hand painted design is in very good condition. There is a small thin hairline to the interior rim 0.75” and a very minor small discoloration mark on the opposite side of the rim which is less than 2/8”. If like us you adore early 19th century hand painted florals, then this is the cup for you.

Saucers in last image are not the same pattern and are sold separately.
