Antique Early 19th Century Miniature Watercolor Painting Butterfly Birds Eye Maple Frame Circa 1830 Georgian
A most appealing miniature hand painted watercolor depiction of a handsome Red Admiral butterfly (vanessa atalanta) that is housed behind glass in a bespoke period Birds eye maple veneered frame. This tiny painting would have been part of a circa 1830 period Album, that has since been disbanded. It is a gorgeous little art treasure to hang just about anywhere within your home. It works perfectly with an antique folk art grouping..............
Size: The frame 5.5" (14 cm) by 4.75" (12 cm). The visible painting 2.75" (7 cm) by 1.75" (4.5 cm)
Condition: The watercolour is crisp and bright. There are two old munching insect holes to the ancient paper ground to the side of his right wing. Please excuse the white background reflection on the butterfly's glass in the last montage image.
