This delightful miniature hand painted porcelain rouge pot was produced in the early 19th century, Regency era - circa 1820. The exterior features the most wonderful hand painted floral sprays. The original use was to adorn a lady's dressing table, each pot with its little dipped inner well would contain a cosmetic such as rouge for the cheeks and lips, wax for the eyebrows or cream for the complexion. This is a rare, quality miniature item that will display excellently alongside any collection of early 19th century English pottery and porcelain.
Measuring: 1.25 inch (3.3 cm) by height 7/8 inch (2.5 cm).
Condition: Very tiny nibbles to the interior rim, barely noticeable. Shallow tiny chip to the interior rim.
