This highly decorative porcelain cup was produced by Coalport in England at the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1820. It features extensive gilt decoration, an unusual yellow and cobalt blue ground and highly detailed hand painted floral scenes. The base of the cup is unmarked.
Measuring: Diameter with handle 4.5” (11 cm). Diameter without handle 3 5/8” (9.3 cm). Height 2 1/8” (5 cm).
Condition: There is a hairline that is visible on both sides, approximately 1 2/8” (3 cm). The hand painted scenes and gilding are in very good condition, they are bright and crisp.
This is a fine piece of porcelain produced by one of the best factories. It is remarkably bright and colorful, an excellent addition to your porcelain collection.
