The passing of two hundred and twenty seven years have not aged this stunning duo.
This wonderful matching tea bowl and saucer was produced by master potter Seth Pennington in Liverpool, England in the late 18th century, circa 1790. The pattern is known as the Scallop Shell and Flower Head pattern. This vibrant under glaze blue and white pattern with over glaze green and iron red polychrome decoration were two centuries ahead of their time, allowing this set to work perfectly in any 21st century interior.
Measuring: Tea bowl diameter 3 2/8 inch (8.3 cm), height 1 7/8 inch (4.8 cm). Saucer diameter 5 2/8 inch (13.3 cm), height 1 1/8 inch (3 cm).
Condition: Both pieces are in very good condition for their vast age, there are two tiny shallow less than 1/16 inch (1 mm) fleabites to the rim of the tea bowl. There are two tiny shallow less than 1/16 inch fleabites to the rim of the saucer. There is a tiny manufacturing fault on the base of the saucer. All very minimal but mentioned for accuracy.
