Antique French Condiment Set Salt Sweetmeat Caddy Circa 1850 Nap III
This is a handsome adornment for your dining table that comes to you direct from Southern France.
Dating to the 1850 period this double open salt was intended to allow easy access to salt for inside dining, easily portable for al fresco dining or indeed, a useful portable condiment when cooking.
Measuring 6 1/8" by 7.25" by 2.75"
This set has all original features including original wooden bun feet, attractive wooden base, turned ebony salt bases and carry handle and of course its two removable cut crystal glass salt cellars.
Condition is very good with a couple of points to mention. This set has been used. There is a clouding to the glass salt cellars from the salt contents. We have washed the glass but cannot remove this clouding. There is a small hairline crack to one of the ebony salt cellar turned bases.
This would make a lovely gift for a keen cook or Francophile or a wonderful, functional item in your vintage/ French inspired dining room/ kitchen.
