This is such a sweet little item, just perfect for a very special friend or doll.
This Lilliputian, pocket sized book measures just 2.25" by 2.5". This book was published in the 1830s and printed for The Religious Tract Society: It was sold at The Depository, 56 paternoster Row: By J Nisbet, 21 Berners Street: and by other booksellers. It is covered in its original deep red calf leather with green leather lining and yellow end papers. Its front leather flap securer is fully working.
Condition is very good. The outer leather is intact with some minor age related wear. All edges are gilt and are still bright. There is a name hand written to the yellow front end paper for June Reed October 13th 1841 and also some pencil hand script to the last yellow end paper. The front end paper is a little loose but still attached, all other pages are tightly bound with a strong spine and no rips, tears, stains or bumping to the corners.
This is a unique gift for a dear friend or as we said in our opener, a great antique accessory for a special doll or teddy.
