Antique Early 19th Century Purse Silver Plated Frame Beadwork Circa 1820 Georgian
This unusual example comes with excellent provenance but she is showing her 245 years. She was part of an English gentleman's lifelong collection of pre 1820 textiles, costume and accessories. Many of his items donated in his lifetime to major London museums. Name and details of the deceased owner given upon purchase.
This is a scarce example of a lady's coin purse as one does not often find silver plated examples. We are sure that this purse would have begun life in France. The excruciatingly pretty floral frame just screams of French decorative design. Complete with its push button opener AND end tassel. The frame opens and closes with a good, satisfying snap. This turquoise glass beaded beauty will create a WOW in any discerning purse collection.

Condition is good. Some of the silver plate has worn away revealing a coppery color base metal. Some minor bead loss to the reverse, one diagonal row of lattice decoration, approx 12 beads. There is some bead loss to the looped tassel. Some minor foxing to the reverse on the knitted body.
