Antique Early 19th Century Coin Purse Circa 1815 Netted Silk Perfect FF Doll
A wonderfully intricately made miniature purse from the 1800-1820 period. This small purse comes with excellent provenance from the estate of an deceased English pre 1820 textile collector ( name given upon purchase).
Very small in size at just 2.75" total height by 1.75" wide. This tiny purse would have easily been carried in a Regency lady's reticule. Of course, its small size making it the perfect luxury accessory for a very special antique doll.
This purse was constructed in two shades of silk twist thread using a netting technique. A rectangle was netted and then drawn in at the base, a hole left for the stunning multi faceted cut steel beads. The top houses a silk thread drawstring closure. The central striped honeycomb effect is very pretty and surely very challenging in its making. It is wonderful to find it complete with original drawstring and cut steel adornments.
Condition is very good/ excellent. Just minor tarnishing to the 200 year old cut steel.
