Antique Miniature Purse Suede Cut Steel Suit Doll or Child Circa 1860
This is a most unusual little coin purse from the early Victorian period. Due to its small 3" by 2.25" dimensions; we would think that it could have been originally made for a Doll or child.
The leather envelope style purse is simply made using three sections of brown suede; the top V section folded over to make the securing flap. The appealing feature is the softness of the suede combined with the sparkling of the hand stitched, faceted steel bead decoration.
Condition is very good and this purse is perfectly usable. There is minor rusting to the steel beads but nothing drastic.
