Victorian Church Offertory Box LOVELY English Oak Circa 1840 Folk Art
We adore this supremely tactile and very functional item. Dating from the early Victorian period this solid oak drawer was probably used as a primitive cash drawer or church collection box to be passed around. It now makes a stunning storage box for your TV remote, car keys, note pads and pens or perhaps a wonderful period addition to your country kitchen.....the possibilities are endless!!
This is a beautifully made item with a gorgeous feel and coloring. The English oak exudes quality and longevity. Having three flat bottomed compartments with sloped dividers. The bottom and the dividers all made from oak. The carved handle to the rear is very beautiful in its simplicity.
Size: 12" by 6" by 3.25" at its tallest. Weight 1 lb 7.9 oz
Condition is good and authentic with some very old bumps to the corners as seen on our close up image. The securing screws for the handle most likely a 20th century replacement.
