19th Century Girls Bodice Chemise Vest Drawn Thread Work Circa 1830
A darling item of early 19th century girl's under clothing, that makes THE prettiest showpiece when displayed on a silk padded hanger.
Dating to the Romantic era of the 1830's and British in origin. This delicately made item of clothing is of very fine white cotton that is so, so soft from many launderings over the centuries. This small item is well made as one would expect from this period. The drawn whitework, window pane fabric is so very fine. The tall puffed sleeve top is just breath taking in its detail. This empire line bodice has pull cord drawstring to both the top and the bottom to aid a snug fit.
Measuring 10.25" across the chest, 10.75" arm to arm with a very small 3" sleeve hole diameter. (females were much smaller back then).
Condition is good. Free from holes or rust spots. Minor wear along bottom edge commensurate with wear.
