This antique 19th century foot measure is a wonderful example of good English treen. This delightful Victorian size stick was used by cobblers and shoe retailer's to measure the customer’s foot. This size stick is constructed from mellow colored boxwood and brass and features two scales of sizing from 1-13 divided by an elbow joint. On one side of the stick is a folding heel rest and at the other side there is a sliding toe marker. On the reverse of the stick is a further scale from 1-12 inches, with a sliding brass rule acting as the toe marker. This is an interesting item and is perfect for anyone who has an interest in 19th century fashion. This item will display excellently alongside any shoes from the 18th and 19th century.

Measuring: Width 9 inch (23 cm) by height 7/8 inch (2.5 cm).

Condition: A gorgeous mellow coloring and wonderful patina. Minor staining to the wood, a few minor age related (stable) drying cracks to the wood..
