This is such an interesting set of cuff links and tie bar. They are made in a blended and carved burgundy plastic with a green prystal type top. The tops have a carving of a Roman soldier that is painted gold. I am pretty sure that these are made of bakelite however they are overly covered in a varnish or laminate making it impossible to test. You can see the thick this layer on the backs of the items. It has a yellow tinge to it which helps support the bakelite theory. There is slight chipping and bubbling of this substance but nothing crazy. Each square measures 3/4" wide and have gold tone findings. I am not seeing any name or makers mark. There are a couple of spots on the golden tie bar.
