This is an amazing facial fire screen from the early 1800's. The screen is made from heavy card stock with a faux leather backing. It has a beautiful hand painted scene on the front of a European farming couple. The woman is riding on a white horse and being led by her sweetheart. It is a bit faded but a beautiful story in itself! The edges are embossed with a leafy design and golden borders. The handle is turned wood. Measurements are 8 3/4" wide 7" high with an extra 8 inches of handle.
There is a bit of chipping around the edges and a little peeling next to the handle. The handle is loosely fit but not going anywhere. Please see pictures for full visual description. Overall it is an amazing piece of art from a bygone era.
