This is a fabulous majolica pitcher called "Taverne" dating 1893-1906 from the French Faience factory of Nimy Les Mons in Belgium. This factory was run by Jean Pierre Mouzin and Theophile LeCat. The pitcher stands 9 inches tall with a stunning turquoise blue base. The inside is glazed in a mauve pink. The pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips or repairs but light crazing throughout. It does not have a factory mark but is signed lightly on the side. This pitcher can be found in the French Majolica book called Pichets en Barbotine on page 125. A wonderful addition to your collection!
