Rare to find 5.75" all bisque Simon and Halbig mignonette with light blue over the knee ribbed stockings made for the French market from the 1880's. This little darling is in perfect condition. No repairs, chips, or hairlines to the beautiful pale creamy bisque. This little angel has such a happy face and is proud of her two square cut upper teeth and one lower tooth. She has original set blue glass eyes that are surrounded by finely stroked upper and lower eyelashes and has light brown eyebrows with perfectly placed nostril dots and painted lips. This dear is peg strung with a kid lined swivel neck. Her arms are well molded with a crease at the wrist and inner arm areas. She has the much desired long blue over the knee ribbed stockings and wears black molded single strapped shoes with molded bows on the toes. She is early and unmarked. Under her lace bonnet she has her original blonde wig and cork pate. The original dress is expertly sewn with pleating and and details of silk thread feather stitching around the edges and pockets. It is lined with organdy and lace with attached organdy and lace slip. It has a detached little vest/jacket with the same silk thread feather stitching detail around the edges and belt and is also edged in lace. A very detailed original creation. She has a felt hat that she sports when wearing her monocular out to the park but appreciates that the Stanhope lens inside the view is the Lord's Prayer. How these were made so long ago is very fascinating in itself. Included is a darling crotchet dress that ties in the back. She is safely preserved in a wonderful French French silk padded basket measuring 7.5" L x 5.5" W x 3" deep. The outer grass weave of the basket is in excellent condition. Circa 1885.
