This is a lovely, sentimental sweetheart chatelaine/watch pin style hidden locket worn during WW II. The bow pin is a very pretty pastel yellow enamel, and the guilloche rose floral motif on the locket face is just gorgeous. It has a decorative edging of tiny half domes, it is 1 inch across. The back side is a locket with an old stock picture, held in place with a secure ring frame and and slightly domed glass. It is very easy to replace/change out your pictures. It was very popular in the 1940’s for young women to have a picture of their beloved while they were at war, so they could keep them close to their hearts. The yellow enamel on the 1 inch long bow is still lovely and luminous, it has one tiny pinprick spot on the bottom of the right side of the bow, but more noticeable in my magnified pictures than in person. This brooch pin locket is in good vintage condition. The locket part appears to be gold filled; the bow has considerable patina and is unmarked, most likely gold wash. The roll over clasp is secure. A beautiful and very collectible piece of times gone by!
