This is a charming United States Navy Construction Battalions Seabees locket pendant! It is suspended from a very nice Monet Company 26 inch long 3mm herringbone chain, with the maker’s tag and older style clasp. The snap bail is ¼ of an inch tall, and makes it easy to change out chains with others you have. This is lovely, gold plated with rich blue, white and gold enamel, all still shiny and bright with no darkening. Any dark spots in the photos are merely reflection, it is in excellent condition and very luminous. The locket is 1 and ¼ inch from bale to bottom, and 7/8 of an inch across, with a nice depth of ¼ of an inch. It has the word Seebees below the fighting bee. The Seebees’s official motto was: Construimus, Batuimus -- We Build, We Fight. A Seabee is a member of the United States Naval Construction Forces (NCF). The word "Seabee" comes from initials "CB" which in turn comes from the term Construction Battalions which are sent out to construct/deconstruct a variety military locations, since the early 40's. This marvel is most likely from the 60’s-70’s, a great way to celebrate a CB loved one and show your support.
