Beautiful George the third mahogany bell top bracket clock by James Wild, London. The clock comes with a twin fusee rack and bell striking movement along with a verge escapement. It also has flowers with foliate scroll engraved on the back plate. The single sheet bronze brass break-arch has a roman numeral dial and arabic five minute steel hands. The date is shown on the bottom with the makers cartouche to the center and signed James Wild, London. The mahogany bell-top case shows the original patina with a hinged carrying handle. The provenance is from a private collector in Montreal and the clock is circa 1790. This mahogany clock measures 11 wide inches & 7 3/4 inches deep & 16 inches high (handle down). In centimeters, this comes to 28 cm wide x 22 cm deep and 40.5 cm high. The movement has been verified and there are very minor restorations to the case, there are also age spots on the dial. Looking at it from the back, the bracket on the left side shows an old repair.
