Antique 1830's Cast Iron Candlestick

Have a look. Not really sure what this was for. The patent number dates to around 1836.

Based on some patent research it may have been part of a "kettle cooker". The kettle would have probably hung from the 2 hooks in the front.

I think it is great repurposed as a candle stick, as shown. The 2 hooks could be used for hanging a necklace or other adornments. It is really cool and heavy cast iron with nice "Frank Lloyd Wright, Prairie Wheat" style decorations in the metal.

13" tall.

Base is 3 1/2" square.

Solid as a rock.

PENT NO. 5457-1217

The last 4 digits of the patent number are unclear.
