Antique Hand Colored Etching - Deer in the Forest
19th Century. Etching is in wonderful condition and appears to have never been unframed. There is some light foxing that can be seen, mostly in the light area of the sky. The work presents like a fine painting! It really looks great hanging on the wall. It has a wonderful heavy / sturdy frame and looks great on the wall.
Perfect for a den or study. Any hunter would love this etching,
Frame is 27 3/4" by 20 3/4"
Image size is 20 1/2" by 13 1/4"
We have not removed the print from the frame. You can see by the paper on the back that it has never been removed. We do not know the printer. It is probably in the bottom border where Currier and Ives placed their name along with the address and city.
The frame is in the condition seen. It is a heavy, enameled wood frame. The marks could be repainted in the gloss black that matches the frame. It is in very good condition with some losses to the edges. The paper on the back shows this to be 19th Century. Also, the glass has the characteristic flaws and bubbles seen in antique glass.
This is a great item. If you have any questions please ask. Unfortunately we don't know the publisher of the print but some may recognize it.
