A large and stately desk set. This is from the days of the fountain pen.
This is a very heavy marble desk piece. It sits on 4 brass feet as shown. It dates to the 1800's.
There are 2 crystal ink wells, covered with perfectly fitting silver plated lids. There is a small crease in one lid (shown). The ink wells have some chips on the bottom corners as shown. The look fine when placed in their recessed holders.
The ink wells still have their glass inserts in perfect condition.
The marble is perfect. It is 3/4" thick. It measures 14 3/4" by 10". It has a recessed area for pens and another that may be used for a beverage.
The set weighs 13 lbs. 6 oz.!
The red recessed area has felt in it. The felt can be removed to expose the marble as shown on the left recessed area.
This is a very fine set and could be re-purposed easily.
