Superb early 20th Century corkscrew featuring a boar tusk handle.
The end cap is 2 piece, a silver (believed unmarked sterling) piece on the very end for the monogram (M.K.) and a metal, perhaps old silver plate band around the top abutting the monogrammed end piece. This piece is marked with a "1" and held in place with 2 nails.
This is a large handled corkscrew and provide plenty of leverage for easy wine bottle opening.
The handle is 7 1/2" end to end, 10" if measured on the curve of the tusk.
Excellent corkscrew with an easy to use mechanism.
In very good condition. The end of the tooth has some light chipping as shown. This may have been original to the tooth.
Cast steel bell - chrome plated.
VERY sharp screw.
