This is a hand painted work of art. The sign was made by Haitian craftsmen using a 55 gallon steel drum.
The sign/hook is hand cut and hand painted. It is quite solid NOT like the tin signs that you see elsewhere.
This sign will last for generations.
8 3/4" tall
hooks welded on back for easy hanging.
See photos for detail.
This sign came from a beach shop that closed a few years ago. It is new but has some marks from storage. Just a few marks but no scratches, chips or paint loss on the sign. Very minor paint loss to the very end of the hooks. It is really good shape.
For approximately 30 years, Old World Creations has been producing and distributing hand crafted giftware and home decorative art, "green" before their time, the recycled metal is very much in play. All designs are by Mimi, an artist familiar with Haiti and its abundance of native talent. Mimi moved to Haiti in 1981 and converted an old Victorian, bougainvillea covered, gingerbread house into her home and a production area. Metal sculptured art began in Haiti in the early 1940's, depicting images native to the country in the natural metal. Mimi recognized the versatility and competence of the metal artists and after lengthy deliberation she decided to try a new medium and developed several designs to be executed in metal and then painted. Supporting Haiti, while offering a great design element for your home.
