An antique pair of wig spectacles from the nineteenth century. These are in their original case which is marked Coulange Jeune, Optician 13 Boulevard Admiral Courbei, Nimes, France.
The case is 6 1/2 inches in length. The eye glasses are 4 inches wide and the side arms are 5 inches in length. The side arms are not curved to clasp the ear because they were either worn inside the wig or pushed through the hair on the wig. The frames were usually placed near the tip of the nose.
The eye glasses are in good condition. They are unusual because one lens is magnifying glass strength. The lenses are in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks.
