1835 Boissier Paris signed Enamel Bronze Jewellery and Chocolate Box S817
This fabulous enamel and bronze box is signed Boissier Paris.
It measures 5 inches by 3 inches by 2 inches high.
Boissier of Paris were exclusive chocolate makers in Paris in 1835. This little box was specially made to hold Bossier chocolates which were given as a present to a lover or fiancee. It has survived in excellent condition and now makes a delightful jewellery box and also a fabulous display item. The enamel is free from cracks or splits. The hinge is in good working order.
On the lid is an elegant lady with a blue and silver gown decorated with gold flowers. She has tucked a box between her forearm and her bosom and appears to be unwrapping a chocolate.
It is a piece of chocolate history and if you love chocolates like I do then you will want this box as a beautiful display box and a great conversation piece especially if you pass it around after dinner with chocolates or mints in it.
