Carl-Art Sterling Rhinestone Basket Pin/Brooch
This pretty pin has great three dimensional detail. The handle of the basket is paved with light sapphire blue rhinestones. Baguettes in the same color, crystal clear rhinestones, and darker sapphire blue rhinestones accent the long-stemmed flowers filling the basket. The back is marked “Sterling” and “CA” with little arrow through it, the mark of Carl-Art. This pin looks like it was lovingly cared for and is in excellent condition, vintage or not. . The finish is bright and shining as the sterling is rhodium plated for extra shine and tarnish resistance. This is a gorgeous pin. This lovely brooch could also be worn as a pendant on any of your favorite chains slipping the chain through the baskets handle.

Founded by Carl Schraysshuen and Arthur Loercher in 1936. They made and sold jewelry under their own name, but also made jewelry for other companies such as Walter Lampl. Carl died in 1953 and his wife sold his half of the company. Carl-Art, Inc. merged with Vargas Manufacturing by 1981; UNCAS purchased Vargas and it's building sometime after 1996. All Carl-Art marks had expired or were cancelled by 1992.
