Vintage Unsigned Schreiner Domed Blues Pin Brooch Pendant
The glass stones in this oval unsigned japanned Schreiner piece are simply magnificent! Large clear pale blue cabs – oval (16 mm x 11 mm), and pear shaped (18 mm x 13 mm) these are saw toothed bezel set. The center oval cabochon is surrounded by a circle of medium blue square shaped (4mm) rhinestones which are prong set. Then a scant circle of Pale blue faceted navette (10 mm x 5 mm) rhinestones, also prong set. After that is a circle of alternating oval and pear shaped abs then finally between these are 6 mm medium blue rhinestone squares also prong set. The pin is oval and is entirely hand set. The construction is typical of Schreiner on reverse (hook and eye). The dome rises almost 0.75”. There is a bail on the back allows the brooch to be worn as a pendant. Just add a chain, ribbon or satin cord in any color to match the rhinestones. This bail can also be slipped between the beads of a crystal or pearl necklace for an additional statement! Very good condition overall, and a delightful addition to your Schreiner collection.

.Schreiner only used paper tags for its department store pieces, leaving a large percentage of his pieces unsigned. Schreiner pieces of jewelry were never mass-produced (the company did only fine handwork). Henry Schreiner died in 1954 and his family ceased operations of the company in 1973. It has been said that the Schreiner Jewelry produced is some of the finest made, and most admired of the vintage jewelry found today. It is highly sought after by collectors.
